Cruising is the ultimate way to be pampered. The cruise staff always wants to go overboard to make your cruise as wonderful and memorable as possible. Gail & I were cruising on the Agean on the Azamara Quest when we had an especially wonderful lunch one day. We told our waiter how outstanding the cauliflower au gratin was and did he think it would be possible to get the cauliflower au gratin recipe. He seemed perplexed about our request but said he would see what he could do. He left our table and came back shortly to tell us the recipe would be delivered to our room within an hour. A little while later there was a knock on our stateroom door. We couldn’t believe what we saw when we opened the door. There stood a waiter holding a large casserole dish of the actual cauliflower au gratin. He said “Here is your recipe you requested.” This was obviously a case of “Lost in Translation” but was also a great example of how cruise staff all want to be so helpful. Later on we were able to actually get the list of ingredients (recipe) to this wonderful dish and is attached below.
